In Johannesburg there is a metro railway system that you can use. There is bus service operated by Mettrobus. For more information on it you may access the website (http://www.mbus.co.za/). It consists of 550 buses. Metropolitan Bus Services (tel: (011) 403 4300; website: www.mbus.co.za) also has buses. You may use these to get around the city also. Lots of people take the taxis in Johannesburg.

There are two kinds of taxis. There are metered taxis and minibus taxis. The metered taxis must be ordered to a destination. You can also rent a car in Johannesburg and here are the companies that service the area. Avis and Imperial. Avis (tel: 0861 021111; website: www.avis.co.za) has a branch in Sandton, 167A Rivonia Road, Morningside. Imperial nationwide (tel: (011) 784 1452; website: www.imperial.ih.co.za and Apex (tel: (011) 402 5150; fax: (011) 402 0655).

However you decide to get around the city we know you will enjoy all there is to see and do. Keep in mind that tours of the area also provide a means of transportation in and around Johannesburg so take advantage of them also. The important thing is to see and do as much as possible while you are visiting Johannesburg.
